First Alert 6: “Third Spaces” See Growing Popularity in Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The term “third space” is familiar to many. It’s a place you can spend time outside of your home or work, to connect with others who have similar interests.

There’s a new concept here in Omaha – reading lounges as a third space.

“In 2020, in particular, third spaces started to disappear right? People couldn’t go out anymore and were confined to their homes. So, since COVID kind of stopped, people have kind of a hard time having a place to go out because those third spaces closed.”

Sam Morley opened “The Reading Room” on Monday, giving people a new place where they can read and build connections.
